It seems unfair to be posting this and not be completely honest here, but I have not quite finished the series yet *insert face of despair here* and I wish that I had more time and less responsibilities to do so. BUT, I own every single book (see disclaimer below regarding this copy of Black Moon) and I am in love with the cover art and the concept of the story line. The atmosphere is rich, the characters are unique, and it’s an exciting adventure that I cannot wait to continue (when I have much less hw and have caught up on lost sleep)! Trust me when I say, this series is worth reading. Just pick up book 1, Zodiac, and let me know if you disagree *cough* you won’t *cough* :P

Thank you to Penguin Random House for providing a paperback copy of this book for review & promotional purposes. All thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own.

Summary: One final secret stands between Rho and the enemy. But will the devastating truth destroy her first?

Rho, the courageous visionary from House Cancer, lost nearly everything when she exposed and fought against the Marad, a mysterious terrorist group bent on destroying balance in the Zodiac Galaxy. Now the Marad has disappeared without a trace, and an uneasy peace has been declared.

But Rho is suspicious. She believes the Master is still out there in some other form. And looming over all are the eerie visions of her mother, who died many years ago but is now appearing to Rho in the stars.

When news of a stylish new political party supported by her best friend, Nishi, sends Rho on another journey across the Galaxy, she uses it as an opportunity to hunt the hidden master and seek out information about her mother. And what she uncovers sheds light on the truth–but casts darkness upon the entire Zodiac world.

Romina Russell recently announced her launch tour on Twitter, and I’ve copied the Tweet below for anyone who might be interested in attending! The three locations are in Miami, NY, and LA and I can personally vouch that Vroman’s in Los Angeles/Pasadena is a fantastic venue for author signings and Q&A!!

Thirteen Rising Launch TourThe final Twitter chat for this tour is being hosted on August 27th @ 8pm EST by @KrystiYAandWine (blog @YA and Wine) & @thebooktraveler (blog @The YA Book Traveler) so make sure you head over & check it out!

FullSizeRender-3Romina Russell is a Los Angeles based author who originally hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a teen, Romina landed her first writing gig—College She Wrote, a weekly Sunday column for the Miami Herald that was later picked up for national syndication—and she hasn’t stopped writing since. When she’s not working on the ZODIAC series, Romina can be found producing movie trailers, taking photographs, or daydreaming about buying a new drum set. She is a Virgo to the core.

Visit her website here, and don’t forget to check out her social media for updates & bookish delights galore!

Did you participate in any of the Twitter chats hosted by my lovely fellow bloggers & book lovers alike? I am not much of a Twitter connoisseur myself, but I sneak on to see what everyone is saying! :) I truly hope you’ve enjoyed this book tour (make sure you check out the other posts by amazing bloggers including fun How-To’s, zodiac deets, recipes, etc.) and that it has inspired you to either begin, or reread these fantastic books!

  1. I haven’t even started this series yet but as you mentioned, in just 4 days, I can binge all the way through them this fall. I do love the covers and the world building is reported as genius.

    1. I do that sometimes too, wait until an entire series is out so that I don’t have to sit and wait in extreme anticipation for the next in the series! Smart move! :D Don’t forget about the Twitter chat w/ Romina tomorrow night at 8pm EST & make sure if you do read them and post about it, tag her @RominaRussell & use the tag #ThirteenRising <3 Thanks for reading!
